What could be the reason why the medium-frequency steel shell furnace won't start?
The fault manifests itself as abnormal noises during the company’s operational process, with the maximum output voltage failing to reach its rated value and the power cabinet emitting increasingly loud extraneous sounds. At this point, we can use an oscilloscope to reduce the output voltage to around 200 volts and observe the waveform of the rectifier’s output control voltage signal (the oscilloscope should be positioned synchronously with the power supply development). Under normal operating conditions, the input voltage and current waveforms of the medium-frequency steel shell furnace exhibit six distinct waveforms per cycle; however, during phase loss, two waveforms will be missing.

Thoroughly understand the differences between aluminum-cased furnaces and steel-cased furnaces.
Steel-shell furnace: It boasts a long service life (typically over 10 years under normal operating conditions) and excellent stability. Thanks to the use of a magnetic conductor, this component serves two key functions: First, the magnetic conductor is securely fastened to the induction coil via set screws, creating a robust structure that ensures tight coupling between the coil and the magnetic conductor; second, the magnetic conductor forms a magnetic shielding barrier around the coil, effectively minimizing magnetic leakage. This furnace also offers energy savings—furnaces equipped with magnetic conductors consume 3% to 5% less electricity than those with aluminum shells. Additionally, it provides precise and stable casting control, as the hydraulic tilting mechanism allows for fine-tuned adjustment of casting angle and speed. The furnace also features high safety performance, thanks to its built-in furnace-leakage alarm system and fire-resistant clay lining. Due to these outstanding characteristics, steel-shell furnaces are the preferred choice for applications involving melt volumes exceeding 2 tons.
