The fault manifests itself as an exceptionally high output current—even when the furnace is empty—and the power supply cabinet produces a heavy, resonant sound during operation. After startup, if you turn the power knob to a lower setting, you’ll notice that the intermediate-frequency output voltage is higher than normal. Using an oscilloscope, sequentially observe the voltage waveforms across the anode-cathode junctions of the four inverter thyristors. Under normal conditions, the waveform for each thyristor should resemble the one shown in Figure 3. However, if three bridge arms are operating, you’ll find that the waveforms of two adjacent thyristors are normal, while the waveforms of the other two adjacent thyristors show either no waveform at all or a sinusoidal waveform, as illustrated in Figure 4. In the case of the Yunnan intermediate-frequency forging induction furnace, since the KK2 trigger fails to conduct, the waveform across its anode-cathode junction becomes sinusoidal. At the same time, because KK2 remains non-conducting, KK1 cannot be turned off, resulting in no waveform appearing across the terminals of KK1.
Check whether the lever handle for starting the vacuum chamber of the medium-frequency forging induction furnace is flexible.
Check whether the rotary McLeod vacuum gauge meets the requirements.
Check that the graphite crucible and furnace accessories are complete.
After the medium-frequency forging induction furnace is ready, connect the power supply and close the circuit breaker for the medium-frequency furnace. Since the medium-frequency forging induction furnace is of high quality, follow the startup procedures for medium-frequency furnaces: first, perform a trial start-up using the frequency converter; after successful operation, stop the frequency converter before starting the furnace.
The observation and temperature-measuring ports on the top cover of the vacuum furnace must be cleaned each time the furnace is opened, so that they can be used for observation and temperature measurement.
When loading the furnace, adopt the appropriate loading method according to the specific sintered product. Load the trays in accordance with the relevant material-specific loading guidelines; do not alter these guidelines arbitrarily.
Alkaline Crucible for Medium-Frequency Forging Electric Furnace
An alkaline crucible is a crucible made from alkaline refractory oxide materials. The oxides commonly used to manufacture alkaline crucibles include CaO, MgO, ZrO2, and BeO. Among these, while MgO is widely employed, the other oxides—due to their high costs—are typically reserved for producing small crucibles intended solely for laboratory testing. Alkaline crucibles are widely used in the smelting of various steels and alloys and are among the most extensively applied types of crucibles. Currently, the largest alkaline crucibles have a capacity of 32 tons.
Acidic Crucible for Medium-Frequency Forging Electric Furnace
Acidic crucibles are crucibles made from acidic oxides. The primary oxide used to manufacture acidic crucibles is SiO2. Almost all acidic crucibles are made from refractory materials predominantly composed of SiO2, and they are particularly well-suited for large induction furnaces with capacities ranging from 5 to 30 tons. For example, when melting cast iron, acidic crucibles are invariably employed.
